Butrint Private Tour
A UNESCO ancient city, before the gates open to the crowds
A UNESCO ancient city, before the gates open to the crowds
Ten minutes from Ksamil's beach bars lies one of the Mediterranean's great archaeological sites, and most of its visitors give it an hour off a tour bus. Our private tour does the opposite: an expert guide, the first slot of the morning, and Butrint's Greek theatre, Roman forum and Venetian towers nearly to yourselves.
Butrint compresses 2,500 years into a forested peninsula: a Hellenistic theatre still facing its lagoon, a Roman city, an early-Christian baptistery with its mosaic floor, Byzantine walls and a Venetian castle above the trees. Few sites anywhere layer so many civilisations in so short a walk.
Your guide is a specialist in the region's archaeology, and the private format means the visit bends to your curiosity — deep on the mosaics, long on the ramparts, or paced for children.
We book the earliest entry of the day: the light is low, the lagoon is still, and the tour groups are an hour behind you. The full visit runs about three hours on site, plus private transfer from your villa in Ksamil or Saranda.
The natural pairing is an afternoon on the water — our Ksamil RIB charter passes the Butrint lagoon from the sea side, completing the picture.
