Ksamil Islets & Butrint by Private Boat
The Albanian Maldives and a UNESCO city in one day

The Albanian Maldives and a UNESCO city in one day
The four little islands off Ksamil sit in water so shallow and luminous it earned the coast its "Albanian Maldives" tag — and a mile south, across a glassy lagoon, the ruined city of Butrint layers Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian stone across two and a half thousand years. A private boat day threads the two together: the morning among the islets and their sandbars, the afternoon at the archaeological site, with a swim and lunch between.
You board at Saranda or Ksamil and run down the coast to the islets, anchoring over sand to swim the pale shallows and snorkel the rocky edges before the day-boats arrive. A slow pass takes in Mirror Beach and the Kakome coves; lunch is on board at anchor or at a waterfront table our concierge arranges.
In the cooler afternoon you land near Butrint to walk its Greek theatre, baptistery mosaics and Venetian castle in the shade of the lagoon woods, before the return leg north to Saranda.
Ksamil in July and August is genuinely overrun; a private boat lets you reach the islets before nine and have a cove to yourself, then time Butrint for the quiet of late afternoon. The concierge handles the boat, the Butrint tickets and a guide, and the lunch table.
Rates on request — every day is quoted individually by our concierge.
