Corfu airport is, counter-intuitively, the fastest gateway to the southern Albanian Riviera — closer and better-connected than Tirana for Saranda and Ksamil. The chain is short: a ten-minute transfer from the terminal to Corfu port, the fast ferry across the strait in about thirty minutes, and a short drive from Saranda port to your villa.
The single thing to plan around is the last ferry. If you land in the morning or early afternoon, the whole chain flows in a couple of hours and you are on a Riviera terrace by evening. Land late and the scheduled boat may already be done for the day — in which case a private crossing bridges the gap, or you overnight in Corfu Town and cross fresh in the morning.

Corfu airport vs Tirana for the southern Riviera
For Saranda, Ksamil and Butrint, Corfu is the smarter arrival: the ferry chain is under two hours door to door, versus roughly four and a half hours' drive from Tirana over the mountains. Tirana wins only for the northern Riviera — Dhërmi, Himara, Vlora — where the coastal road from the north is shorter.
If your itinerary runs the whole coast, arriving at Corfu and departing from Tirana (or vice versa) lets you drive the Riviera one way without doubling back.
