The Albanian riviera's best beaches have no road — and that is the whole argument for the Aetos. A 9-metre RIB with a local skipper based in Ksamil, she is the agile, salt-sprayed way to reach the coves, caves and white-pebble bays that the crowds on the village beaches will never see.

The format

RIB charters are the opposite of ceremony: board at Ksamil, drop your bag under the bimini, and be swimming off an empty beach twenty minutes later. Up to eight guests, a cool box of drinks, snorkelling gear, and a skipper who grew up reading this coastline.

Choose a half-day for the islets and Butrint lagoon, or a full day to run north past Saranda to the roadless beaches of Krorëza and Kakome.

What you will see

South, the mirror-flat lagoon of Butrint and its UNESCO ruins seen from the water. Around Ksamil, the four islets and their swimming channels. North, a cliff coast pierced with sea caves, then the long white sweep of Kakome — arguably the finest beach on the riviera, and reachable only this way.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, in normal summer conditions — the 9 m hull is stable and the skipper adapts speed to the group. There is shade under the bimini and easy swim access. For very young children we recommend the calmer half-day islet route.

Yes. Both bays have simple seasonal tavernas reachable only by boat. The skipper times the run so you land before the tour boats and have the beach at its quietest.
