A villa directly on Avlaki beach
Avlaki on the Beach sits directly on the pebbles of Avlaki, a long, quiet sweep of white shingle between Kassiopi and Agios Stefanos that most of the island's traffic misses entirely. Flexible in size — from three up to six bedrooms — it is the rare north-east villa where the beach is not down a hill or across a road but simply there, at the door. Avlaki is the coast's windsurfing bay: a gentle afternoon breeze, the Maistros, funnels in and makes this one of the safest, most reliable places on Corfu to sail or learn. The eastern half of the beach is left entirely wild, the western end has a pair of good tavernas, and Kassiopi's harbour and castle are a five-minute drive for the evenings.
A beach-front house configurable from three to six bedrooms, set right on Avlaki bay so the shingle and the water are effectively the garden.
The flexibility of size makes it work for anything from a single family to a larger group, and at roughly €390 a night it is well-judged for a beach-front position on this coast.
Avlaki is Corfu's windsurfing bay — the afternoon Maistros breeze makes it a top spot for sailing and windsurfing, and among the safest waters on the island to learn, with a centre on the beach in season.
Outside the breeze the bay is calm and exceptionally clear for swimming and snorkelling; the eastern half stays undeveloped and empty.
Two good tavernas sit at the western, sheltered end of the beach for lunch straight off the sand. For more choice, Kassiopi's full ring of harbour tavernas is a five-minute drive.
The village castle, boat hire and coves are all close, so Avlaki gives you seclusion by day and a proper village nearby by night.
