It is one of the more family-oriented resorts of the north-east — a proper organised beach with loungers, showers and a good spread of tavernas and beach bars.

The public Barbati beach offers paddleboarding, kayaking and boat hire, and the seabed shelves quickly into deep clear water good for swimming and snorkelling.
From here the north-east is easy touring — Nissaki and Mitsos taverna to the north, Kalami and the White House, and Kassiopi's harbour and castle within a half-hour's drive.
